Description
How can you make better use of the quotes, case studies, interviews, focus groups and feedback you gather? We know it’s important to gather people’s stories and experiences, but we often struggle to analyse this.
This short and interactive session will help you get started with the tools and techniques you can use to analyse qualitative data. You will learn about how to ‘code’ your data systematically, as well as light touch approaches to summarise key themes. The session will also demonstrate how you can make best use of everyday and specialist digital tools. You will also be encouraged to plan the right approach for your work.
This session will cover
* What qualitative data analysis involves
* How to organise qualitative data (transcripts, documents, spreadsheets)
* Light touch approaches and tools to summarise qualitative data
* How to ‘code’ qualitative data and identify themes
* Free and affordable digital tools available, with tips on choosing and using these
* Planning your analysis approach
Pre-course requirement
Anyone who works for a small charity or community organisation that is responsible for analysing comments and interviews gathered during the course of their work. It is a beginners course. You don't need specific data analysis skills to take part.
Am I eligible for this course?
You are eligible to join the session if you work for a London charity and would like to learn how to analyse your qualitative data more effectively. But we ask that only one person per organisation books to attend this session - thank you. This is an introductory course for people with either limited experience or confidence in analysing qualitative data. It will help if you have an interest in analysing your qualitative data, with some knowledge of the data you have and why you collect it or intend to use it.
Is this course for me?
Email info@superhighways.org.uk if this course is fully booked. We will add you to a waitlist and contact you if a place becomes available.
